Our Dream

True Blue Dreaming (TBD) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting and strengthening young lives in rural and remote communities.

The TBD programs primary objectives are:Looma

  • To reduce the disadvantage of Australian youth by inspiring and building capacity in areas of: personal growth; community development; connection to country /culture; health and well-being;
  • To foster and build positive, open relationships with communities to promote genuine reconciliation and social inclusion
  • To encourage communities to take ownership of the TBD program and be involved in making decisions about the implementation and delivery of the program to support the aspirations of young people and their communities.

The True Blue Dreaming point of difference is that the programs use young adults as role models and mentors to build meaningful relationships with young people in those communities. The mentors are predominantly University students or post graduate students who are committed to and passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people who experience social disadvantage.  They are the role models that most young people living in remote communities would seldom have an opportunity to meet without a TBD program.

The TBD mentoring programs create bridges and networks between year 9 students and other groups of solid, inspirational young people who have seen the power of education create opportunities and change their lives.
